God has called His disciples to partner with Him to advance His Kingdom and do great exploits.
The book of Malachi calls us to evaluate and examine the condition of our hearts towards God. While it is a book addressed specifically to the priests and Levites in Israel, it applies to every believer today as we are called to be a kingdom of priests to God.
This book exhorts us to examine our heart attitudes when we bring our worship and offerings to God. Are we truly engaging with Him or simply going through the motions with cold and dull hearts?
God has emotions and God feels deeply! The emotions and feelings of God are revealed throughout the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.
Intimacy with God is about relating with God as a Person. Part of that privilege and joy is found in encountering His heart and emotions as He answers our prayer of: “What are You thinking and what are You feeling, Lord?”
A divine encounter with His emotions is a vital foundation of intimacy with a holy God who desires to reveal His heart and emotions to us.
We are living in an unusual hour where God is raising up a people of extravagant devotion to partner with Him to do the extraordinary acts. The eyes of the LORD are running to and fro looking for the people of “one thing”.
Who are the people of one thing? What does it mean to be a people of extravagant devotion?
The Bible gives us models of such people. More than inspiring us, they are given as witnesses and patterns for us to emulate so that we can grow to become people of one thing.
Revelation chapters 2 and 3 give us one of the clearest and most complete pictures of what Jesus wants and what Jesus is looking for in His Church. Through the 7 letters, Jesus reveals 7 specific areas of spiritual maturity that He wants the Church to cultivate. They also contain 7 Prophetic Messages that instruct the Church on how to be prepared as overcomers to partner with Jesus at His Second Coming.
Jesus ends each letter by saying, “He who has an ear, let Him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church”. We must not be casual or superficial but must contend for understanding as we read and study these 7 letters, and be diligent to cultivate the 7 areas of spiritual maturity that Jesus is looking for.
