David was someone who carried his heart and maintained his intimacy with God through all the seasons of his life – in success, failure, trial, victory, temptation, etc.
Isaiah 55:3 makes it clear that he is the ideal model for a people of God who are wholehearted and faithful unto the Lord. We can learn much as we study his life from 1 and 2 Samuel.
What is a God who has everything and lacks nothing looking for? He is looking for love from His people!
This is why the First and Great Commandment is to love Him with our all. It is God’s priority for man and man’s highest and greatest call.
