Update: In response to the Isaiah 62 Global Solemn Assembly for Israel that has been called, we have modified the original duration of our Two-2-Two “Hinge Moment” Fast in order to better prepare ourselves as a community to participate fully in the unprecedented 21-day Solemn Assembly.

In this Sovereign Appointed Time, the Lord has spoken to us that 2023 is a significant “hinge” year upon which the door of history swings. How it swings will depend on how God’s people respond to Him in this critical hour.

Various global events in recent weeks have also alerted us to the escalating rage of spiritual darkness; however, there is also a great convergence and expectancy across the global body of Christ to contend for and see God’s promise of His glory breaking in upon this generation.

Thus, more than ever, now is the time to posture and position ourselves at the place of fasting and prayer (Joel 2:12–17), so that we will be ready to receive the greatest outpouring of the Spirit (Acts 2) in this Isaiah 60:1–3 moment.

The Psalm 2 Crisis demands a Joel 2 Response for an Acts 2 Revival!

This is truly a “hinge moment” and as people of light, we want to contend for the door of history to swing towards the light and glory of God invading this generation.

Lou Engle said, “There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens, and great revolutions for good or evil spring up in the vacuum created by these openings. In these divine moments, key men and women and even entire generations risk everything to become the hinge of history, the pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.”

This is THE moment to risk it all.
This is THE moment to write new history with God.
This is THE moment to arise as history makers!

CALL TO FAST
We are fasting for 40 days in this Two-2-Two “Hinge Moment” Fast to contend for a spiritual revolution unto the arising of the John 17 generation, the fulfilment of God’s promises in this 40th year and the fullness of the nation of Israel.

The fast will start on 22 Feb 2023 and end on 2 Apr 2023.

From 3 Apr – 6 May, our community will take the time to prepare our hearts for the Isaiah 62 Global Solemn Assembly for Israel.

22 Feb – 2 Apr 2023: 40 days Liquid Fast

We are focusing on contending for spiritual revolution among God’s people, the breaking in of the Holy Spirit, and for God’s prophetic promises for this generation that have reached their 40th year.

SIGNIFICANCE OF NUMBER OF DAYS
40 → This generation is “crossing the Jordan” into God’s promises and glory.

We invite all who are stirred to pray for God’s purposes for this hour to join in this fast, in whatever way possible, to cry out for His move in this time!

In this Rev. 3:20 Moment and Historic Transitional Decade, the Lord has led us to go on three 20-day fasts in 2022 to contend for three specific transitions in this kairos hour.

The fasts correspond to three key transitions at the Jordan River that we see in Scripture:

1) From Moses to Joshua (Josh. 3) — signifying the entering into the actualisation of God’s promises;

2) From Elijah to Elisha (2 Kings 2) — signifying the arising of the prophetic generation;

3) From John the Baptist to Jesus (Matt. 3) — signifying the transition into greater glory and intimacy with Jesus.

We are at the Jordan River Moment. We are at the Rev. 3:20 moment. We want to open the door of our hearts and press in together with hearts of expectation in this place of transition!

LAYING HOLD of God through Holy Conversation, Divine Dialogue and Sacred Assembly (Phil. 3:12–14)

We are living in a critical juncture and prophetic timeframe of human history pertaining to the End of the Age where the Holy Spirit is orchestrating something extraordinary in these critical hours of history. The LORD is inviting us to lay hold of what He has laid hold of us for in this Divine Moment!

When Mike Bickle and the IHOPKC family, in response to Lou Engle’s rally to the global Body of Christ, made a call to Houses of Prayer worldwide for a 40-day Fast (March 1 to April 9) to contend for revival and breakthrough for nations, unprecedented global harvest, and Israel (among other things), our hearts were excited and yet in our flesh, we were not very enthusiastic.

But in His kindness, the LORD stirred a deep sense of holy alarm in our spirit to recognize the importance and significance of this global fast. More than contending for revival and breakthrough (which we want), this fast is related to the coming glory of God, the future promises of God pertaining to the return of Jesus and the need to make ourselves ready for the coming historic pressures!

The Spirit of God made it clear that there is an urgent necessity to lay hold of grace, godliness, strength, and authenticity in the LORD so that we can burn and shine in the coming hours. We are awakened to the desire of God to set His Church on fire, which will result in the rising up of His prophetic witnesses in the midst of increasing global rage against the LORD and His truth (Psalm 2:1-3).

Therefore, we are saying YES to this divine interruption from life business as usual and embrace this voluntary disruption in order to posture our hearts unto the LORD to be made ready for the future involuntary disruptions that will happen in far greater measures (Matthew 24:1–14).

Holy Conversation :: Divine Dialogue :: Sacred Assembly

There will not be weekly Friday teachings during this period. We want to take time to come together as a community to have ample conversations on passages of Scriptures that the Holy Spirit is highlighting and emphasizing in this season (i.e. Matthew 24; Daniel 11–12; Isaiah 19; 60:1–3; Haggai 2:4–9; Hebrews 12:25–29; Zechariah 3–4; John 14–17).

Our desire is to give the Holy Spirit permission and space to cause our conversations to transcend into holy moments where the LORD will impart His Word and His heart unto us, which will give rise to applications and responses that cause transformation.

More than that, we want to turn the holy conversation unto divine dialogue with the LORD at the place of personal prayer so as to allow the Holy Spirit to bring forth history with God, a greater depth of godliness, and strength that will be critical in the coming hours (Joel 2:12–14).

This will be a season where we want to congregate for Sacred Assemblies (Joel 2:15-17) to lay hold of what the LORD is inviting us to in this Divine Moment.

We want to REACH FOR GOD’S FULLNESS for this season and for our generation. We refuse to be denied the fullness of His prophetic destiny. We refuse to fall short of what He has in store for us.

We are nearing the greatest revolution in human history — the eschatological revolution of Jesus. It happens only one time, one generation, and it is OUR MOMENT!

May we posture our hearts to press, to reach and to contend for what Jesus has laid hold of for us!

2020 has been an unusual year! 2020 is not a normal year! 2020 will be remembered as the year when the world was brought to a total halt and standstill by a pandemic! Our norms of running businesses, eating out, interacting with one another etc. have been totally disrupted by the global outbreak of COVID-19. This unprecedented first-in-this-generation crisis has brought the winds of change that have shifted the entire world into a new normal!

As the Church of Jesus Christ, we have definitely not been spared this global shaking of God (Hag. 2:6–9). As the people of God, we were absolutely taken by surprise — almost no one saw this coming. Most of us were primarily found wanting as we did not have the answer to this crisis. No prophetic voice was able to make sense and give clarity to what God was saying and doing. Truth be told, we were all blindsided by the LORD through this pandemic!

COVID-19 exposed our cold, dull and hardened hearts. COVID-19 magnified our prayerlessness. COVID-19 revealed our lack of insight and clarity as the prophetic people of God. It is the LORD’s indictment of our hearts, our prayer life and the prophetic movement!

As 2020 is coming to an end with 2021 just around the corner, we are stepping into a very important season of God. Isaiah 43:18-19 says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

The LORD is doing a new thing. We are entering a 3- to 5-year PROPHETIC CYCLE of the Spirit, where the LORD, in His PASTORAL HEART, will bring us through a PREPARATION PROCESS, so that we will be made ready to partner with Him in His grand storyline at the End of the Age! We are truly on the verge of entering into two of the great prophetic promises for our generation: The “White Horse” Prophecy and the prophetic promise of: “I will change the understanding and expression of Christianity on the earth in one generation”!

However, we cannot and must not assume that we will enter into it automatically.

We need to EMBRACE God’s storyline intentionally and diligently. We need to say “yes” and agree with the absolute storyline of God by refusing any other storyline, including the secular narrative. We must also refuse to live life business-as-usual in these unusual hours of human history.

More than embracing God’s storyline, we need to ENGAGE God’s heart. The LORD is not looking for people who merely do things to meet requirements or out of a sense of obligation and duty. He is looking for friends of the Bridegroom who care deeply about His heart.

Finally, we need to make every effort to ENTER into God’s divine moment. There are seasons and timings of the workings of God. All of us can miss out on God’s divine moment. Hearing and saying “yes” do not equate to entering and obeying. For many have said “yes”, but not many have done it. Therefore, we need to take heed of this very Word of the LORD in this hour!

We cannot enter into this vital season with a cold and unresponsive heart. We need a tender and responsive heart before the LORD. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to fine-tune our spiritual signal-to-noise ratio so that our hearts will be sensitive and responsive to the frequency of the Holy Spirit.

To this end, I am calling for a 70-day Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast (November 1, 2020 – January 9, 2021) to intensively and intentionally seek God for our hearts, our prayer life and for the prophetic.

This fast is about INDICTMENT UNTO INVITATION! We do not want to be passive or casual with His indictment of us, but we want to position and posture our hearts to respond to Him so that we can enter into His invitation for us for the coming season.

This fast is about JUDGMENT UNTO RESTORATION! Just as Israel was exiled to Babylon but was restored to her land after 70 years of divine discipline, we want to position and posture our hearts before the jealous, refining and holy fire of God.

We are entering crucial hours in God’s prophetic timeline. We are nearing the greatest revolution in human history — the eschatological revolution of Jesus. This will be a time where we want to RESET and RE-ALIGN. To reset simply means that we give the Holy Spirit permission to disrupt our routines so that we throw ourselves into more wholehearted love than ever before. To re-align means to refuse every other storyline but the one that He has for us because these are truly momentous days, and the best is definitely yet to come.

Just as we entered 2020 with a 3-month Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast (October to December 2019), we want to bookend 2020 with another Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast as we enter into 2021!

I certainly do not want to enter in with an unprepared and unready heart. It is time to seek the LORD until He comes!

The pandemic is here! Nations are in crisis! The world is being shaken!

We are witnessing something that is literally unprecedented. Joel 1:2 aptly says, “Hear this, you elders, give ear, all you inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?”

Every sphere of society is being shaken to its core and foundations. Sports events are being cancelled or postponed indefinitely. Air travel is coming to a standstill. The political and economic arenas are facing turmoil. The entertainment world is not spared either.

Haggai 2:6-7 says, “For thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.”

We are literally and definitely experiencing the Haggai 2 shakings though not in its fullness.

WHO declared the coronavirus a pandemic for the first time on 11 March 2020, saying that Italy and Iran are now on the frontlines of the disease and other countries will soon join them. WHO is deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of the spread and its severity, and also by the alarming levels of INACTION by many nations.

We the people of God must not be quick to point our fingers at the governments of nations. The question of the hour for us is: Are we as passive, unresponsive and inactive in our response to God in prayer and fasting? As people of God, we can do and respond much better by God’s grace.

In light of the global pandemic and the call by Lou Engle for a 3-Day global Esther Fast (18-20 March), IHOP – One Thing Ministries is calling for 5 days of fasting and prayer from 16 – 20 March to stand in the gap like Esther did in her day.

It is at this critical time in human history that the Lord is looking for ones who will hear Him and respond to stand in the gap in the midst of crisis. Esther 4:14 says, “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”‭

It is time for‬ each person to arise and be counted in this hour. It is time to leave “business-as-usual” behind. It is time for His people to awaken to earnest prayer and fasting. May‭ ‬God‭ ‬grant‭ ‬us‭ ‬the‭ ‬spirit‭ ‬of‭ ‬the‭ ‬sons‭ of‭ ‬Issachar,‭ ‬so‭ ‬that‭ ‬we‭ ‬will‭ ‬have understanding of the times and know what to do (1 Chr. 12:32). Let us rise up in such ‬a time ‭as‭ ‬this, responding to‭ His‭ ‬call‭ to rend our‭ ‬hearts‭ ‬and gather for Joel 2 sacred assemblies.

THE MEASURE OF OUR RESPONSE HAS TO EQUATE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE CRISIS!

3. Humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways
4. Stopping of the current COVID-19 pandemic
5. Breaking in of the Holy Spirit
6. Unprecedented prayer and unprecedented harvest

For those who want to join us, we urge everyone to fast in some measure during these five days. It can be an Esther fast (no food, no water – but for not more than one or two days), full water fast, full liquid fast, or Daniel Fast etc., and also come to the House as often as possible to engage in prayer!

Our response should not be one of praying and hoping that this pandemic will be over so that we can return to life business-as-usual. We want to rend our hearts to respond with the sustained Joel 2 Lifestyle that God requires of His people!

The question of the hour in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic is not, “What is God saying?” Don’t be mistaken – this is a very vital question to ask. However, if we have been hearing what the Spirit is saying over the last few years, we should not be unaware.

The crucial and vital question in the midst of this unprecedented crisis is WHAT DOES GOD WANT? What does the LORD, who shakes heaven, earth, and all nations, want? Especially from His people? More than just saying something to us, God actually wants and insists on something from us!

The next question is: does God want us to rise up in authority or to bow down in humility?

Without a shadow of doubt, we the people of God should always arise and shine in times of crisis. When nations are in chaos and turmoil, we have to be the light to give hope, direction and clarity to people who are in great need of help. As the people of God, we need to arise, to stand in the gap, to shine for God and be the answer for such a time as this!

Yet, it is obvious that God is also pressing the “pause” button. The world is at a standstill. Almost everything is grinding to a halt. The Church is not immune or exempted from this disruption. Many ministry plans, conferences, services and overseas engagements have to be postponed, put on hold or paused. God is intentionally enforcing a DIVINE PAUSE to our normal routines of life and ministry so that we can focus on the one thing that is necessary (Luke 10:42). He wants His people to LEAN IN and ENGAGE His heart in this crucial juncture of human history.

Undoubtedly, as we enter 2020, we are entering into a new season and new decade where the LORD is preparing His people to arise and shine with a new history and new normal (Isaiah 60:1). What was normal for the people of God in the book of Acts will become a New Normal in our midst. The LORD is about to bring forth a Divine Upgrade for His people. He is raising up a generation of nameless and faceless people of God with real, deep and authentic walks with Him, to partner with Him in the coming finest hour of the Church of Jesus Christ!

However, the Word of God is also very clear and consistent: To be first, we have to firstly be last. To be great, we have to firstly serve. To be exalted, we need to firstly humble ourselves.

Yes, we need to rise up in authority in this crisis to be the voice of God, the salt of the earth and the answer. Yet it is also a time to BOW DOWN IN HUMILITY.

There is a great need in this hour. We must not draw back or back down. We must arise to pray and meet the needs of many. Yet, we must be mindful of God’s agenda for us to LEAN IN and ENGAGE His heart by intentionally and intensively SETTING our heart towards the one thing that is necessary.

We need to bow down in humility to seek His face! We need to lean in to hear His heart! We need to search every area of our hearts so that deep repentance will arise! We need to intentionally “buy oil” and cultivate real, deep and authentic history with Jesus!

We are in a time of shaking. The purpose of God’s shaking is to reveal weaknesses and fault-lines in our lives, and to remove every false prop that has been giving us a false sense of confidence. The desire of God is really to shake off everything that can be shaken so that what cannot be shaken will ARISE and SHINE!

In the light of this divine pause, I am calling for a 12-Day ONE THING FAST (April 1 – 12). The primary focus of the fast is to LEAN IN to God and ENGAGE Him. These are the focuses for the fast:

1. To bow down in HUMILITY
2. To rend our heart in REPENTANCE
3. To ALIGN in love and obedience
4. To LEAN IN to hear

The One Thing Fast is timed to coincide with the ending of the Global Jesus Fast (March 1 to April 9), the coming Jewish Passover (starting April 8), Good Friday (April 10) and will end on Resurrection Sunday (April 12).

How can we participate in this One Thing Fast?

We can do a water fast, liquid fast, Daniel fast or whatever form of fast that we can. The key is not the form of the fast but the engagement of our hearts with Jesus.

Individually, let us also take time daily to seek God’s face by applying the principles in 2 Chronicles 7:14, Joel 2:12-17 and Luke 10:42.

If it is possible, we can gather small groups of like-minded people to pray for ourselves, for the people of God in this nation, for Singapore and the current pandemic situation.

Ultimately, we want to intentionally bow down to respond in humility, to rend our hearts in repentance, to align to His heart and will, and to lean in to hear.

This is neither a plan nor strategy to stop the pandemic. We must not do this as a requirement or out of a sense of duty. This is a SOBER and SACRED CALL for us to LEAN IN and ENGAGE God!
