Prophetic Encounters & Words

Pause, Wait, Lean In | Word | May 2020

May 28, 2020 by Admin Crea IHOP

(May 2020)

In the recent days and months, the world has been aflood with buzzwords such as “change”, “life no longer business as usual”, “new normal”, etc. as we grapple with a global pandemic that has affected almost every area of our lives.

With absolute certainty, the world will not come out of this pandemic unchanged. We will not be the same. Social norms and lifestyles will change. Our outlook and perspectives will change. The way businesses are run will change.

What does this mean for the people of God? We will also not be spared the winds of change and without a doubt, the Church of Jesus Christ will emerge from this crisis drastically different.

Before we are quick to embrace and flow with these tides of change, however, we need to PAUSE and ask ourselves very honest questions – “What about ourselves are we going to change? What does God want us to change? Will this change be for the better or will this change be for the worse?”

While change is a part of growth and progress, we must not succumb to the pressure of change for change’s sake. I have often said this, “Don’t do something because it works. Do something because it’s right. What works may not be right but what is right will eventually work.”

There are truths, beliefs and core values for the people of God that are far more important than being effective and relevant. Change by all means change, but it must not be at the expense of compromising our truths, beliefs and core values, because these are the very foundations upon which our individual and corporate faith should and must be built upon.

The Change God Wants to Bring

One of the great prophetic promises for our generation is that the LORD will change the understanding and expression of Christianity on the earth before the return of Jesus!

This season of change is a New Beginning. Isaiah 43:18-19 says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

The LORD is doing a new thing. He is going to restore and revive the Church to what we see in the book of Acts and even beyond. He is shaking, shifting and sifting so that a New Normal will come forth in the Church of Jesus Christ – what was normal in the book of Acts will become a New Normal for us. He is preparing a Church that will arise and shine in the midst of increasing darkness and crises.

What does this New Beginning and New Normal look like?

To fully understand, grasp and position ourselves to enter into this New Beginning and New Normal, we need to PAUSE, WAIT and ENGAGE Him at the place of PRAYER and from the posture of LEANING INTO His heart, His wisdom and His Word. It is at the place of seeking and hearing that He will release details of what He is going to do and what this New Beginning and New Normal will look like. We must not assume that we know and pretend that we understand.

It will look VERY different from what we have seen and experienced before. Past revivals can only give us a faint grid of what it could be like. Past experience can also cause us to put God in a box and influence our expectations. If we do not position ourselves and lean in to hear and receive His heart, wisdom and plan for this new thing, then we will continue to build as we have always built in the past. Some of what the Lord is going to do will cause many to take offense, particularly if we have not the eyes to see and ears to hear, and have not spent time with the Lord to receive His heart and wisdom for what is to come.

This is a season where the Lord wants to share His secrets and His wisdom at a level that we have never walked in and understood before. HOWEVER, deep secrets and deep wisdom require us to go deep into that hidden place to find Him and His heart.

This is a season of ENGAGING the LORD at the deepest levels of His heart and in the secret place so that we may EMBRACE what He is about to do in order for us to ENTER into the fullness of this New Beginning and New Normal!

This is a time to pause, be still and listen, so that we are positioned to receive the wisdom that is NEEDED and the divine blueprint that is REQUIRED to navigate the new days that are just around the corner.

A DIVINE UPGRADE is coming as we reset and re-align to the LORD!

Corporate Discernment Word for 2020

January 1, 2020 by Admin Crea IHOP

As a House of Prayer, we gather weekly to hear God for what it is He desires to speak to us for the time ahead. As we receive from Him, we corporately discern, interpret, and put the words together at the end of each year. At the end of the year 2019, this is what we believe God is saying for the coming season.

I have invited and called you to partner with Me in this move of God in the Generation where Jesus is returning. I have invested and established much in you over the last 16 years. For there is a strong foundation being laid.

For you are entering into a new season! The shift is over! The transition is complete! For it is a time to enter into a New Beginning, a New Normal and a Divine Upgrade. It is time for you to arise, to burn and to shine!

There are many promises for the coming of the glory and the light of God that I have invited you into. Do you not see it? It is springing forth even in the desert and wilderness.

But I am not looking for a hireling. I am seeking for fathers, shepherds, leaders, and partners who will EMBRACE and own this storyline of Mine. I am not looking for a tin man without heart.

This is the time to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles you — weaknesses, any “soft belly”, chinks in your armor — so that you may ENTER into the promises. Do not leave the weaknesses as an excuse, Achilles heel, or foothold for the enemy. But be very diligent to ENTER into the promises.

This is the time to seek clarity of the call and assignment that I have for you. This is the time to be intentional. This is the time to REACH for your destiny. This is the time to ENGAGE Me. This is not a game. For the opposition and adversary are real. This is not child’s play. But this is about the Father’s business. My grace is sufficient for you.

The wave is coming! Find your surfboard and ride with Me! This is another turning point. This is another new chapter of the storyline. Put your trust in My leadership, put Your hope in My perfect plan!

Will you be found ready? Will you be found wanting? The time is short and the hour is urgent!

Repair the Broken Altars (Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast)

June 9, 2019 by Admin Crea IHOP

As we fasted and prayed during the Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast, the Lord revealed to us the need to repair the altars of our hearts, lives and families that have broken down.

————————

An altar always represented a place of CONSECRATION. Before God gave His Law to Moses, men made altars wherever they were.

An altar was often built to COMMEMORATE an encounter with God that had a profound effect upon someone. Abram (Genesis 12:7), Isaac (Genesis 26:24–25), Jacob (Genesis 35:3), David (1 Chronicles 21:26), and Gideon (Judges 6:24) all built altars and worshiped after having a unique encounter with God.

An altar usually represented a person’s desire to consecrate himself fully to the Lord. God had worked in a person’s life in such a way that the person desired to create something tangible to memorialize it.

An altar also represents returning to the LORD in wholeheartedness. During times of Israel’s rebellion and idolatry, the Lord’s altar fell into disrepair. The prophet Elijah, confronting the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, “repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down” (1 Kings 18:30). Elijah’s restoration of the altar was significant, given the rampant paganism of his day.

In the Bible, an altar means that all we have is for God and to serve God. Building an altar means that we offer everything we are and have to God. We need to place all that we are and all that we have on the altar.

An altar means that we do not keep anything for ourselves. An altar means that we realize that we are here on earth for God. An altar means that our life is for God, that God is our life, and that the meaning of our life is God.

Every human heart has an invisible altar where the war between the flesh and the spirit rages. When we surrender areas of our lives to the control of the Holy Spirit, we are in effect laying that area on the altar before God.

There were many incidents of Old Testament saints building altars – Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Gideon, David, Elijah, Zerubbabel, etc. Also, there were many hidden meanings concerning the building of altars in Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

This is vital for us in this season of RESET. This RESET is about returning and re-aligning to the LORD as our ONE THING and the MANDATE that He has invited us to.

Many of the “altars” of our hearts, lives and families have broken down. We cannot expect the Lord to send fire on a broken altar. There is an old song that we have often sung in the past that is really appropriate for this season.

————————

FIRES OF REVIVAL

Verse 1
I came into the gathering of the people of the Lord
And found my way among them to His throne
I needed to return unto the altar of my God
To renew again my covenant with Him

Prechorus
And there I build an altar to His name
And realise my life would never be the same
And the fires of revival will come
Sweeping through my soul
And I touch the holy presence of my God

Chorus
Come build an altar unto the Lord
Return to worship and hear His word
And the fires of revival will come sweeping through your soul
And we’ll touch the holy presence of our God

Verse 2
I wanted to discover the first love we once had shared
Rekindling the fire deep within
I found the lamp still flickering in the temple of my Lord
And pour a horn of oil unto the flame

————————

That is what RESET truly means!

Hosea 10:12 says:
“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.”

1 Kings 18:30 says:
“Then Elijah said to all the people, ‘Come near to me.’ So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.”

RESET to the ONE THING THAT IS NEEDED
RESET to GOD’S STORYLINE
REACH for GOD’S FULLNESS

The Heart Behind the Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast (Oct to Dec 2019)

June 9, 2019 by Admin Crea IHOP

In September 2019, as we were completing our 16th year of standing, burning and ministering before the LORD as a House of Prayer, the Word of the LORD came very clearly to us that He is inviting us into a NEW BEGINNING, NEW NORMAL and DIVINE UPGRADE.

As a result of these Words, the Holy Spirit is stirring my heart to make room to hear Him more, to understand in a greater measure what He has invited us into, and to contend for His promises for the coming season.

To this end, I am calling for a three-month Hosea 10:12 Daniel Fast where we want to intensively and intentionally seek God for the reality and specificity of this New Beginning, New Normal and Divine Upgrade that Jesus has invited our House to enter into. We do not want to be passive or casual with His Word but we want to further position and posture our hearts to receive what He so desires to release to us in the coming season.

As a House, we want to RESET TO GOD’S STORYLINE for us. We refuse any other storyline. We refuse the secular narrative. We refuse to live life business-as-usual in these unusual hours of human history.

More than that, we want to REACH FOR GOD’S FULLNESS for this House and for our generation. We refuse to be denied the fullness of His prophetic destiny. We refuse to fall short of what He has in store for us.

This will be a time where we want to trim our lamps, get fresh oil, return to the centrality of Jesus as our Magnificent Obsession, and re-visit the prophetic mandate and promises that He has invited us into since 1989.

To reset simply means that we are giving the Holy Spirit permission to disrupt our routine so that we throw ourselves into more wholehearted love than ever before. We want to re-align to the storyline that He has for us because these are truly momentous days, and the best is definitely yet to come.

We are nearing the greatest revolution in human history – the eschatological revolution of Jesus. It happens only one time, one generation, and it is OUR MOMENT! I certainly do not want to be found wanting when it arrives.

15-Day Fast to Shift, Align, Reset | Dec 2018 – Jan 2019

December 15, 2018 by Admin Crea IHOP

As we enter into 2019, we are venturing into a season of HIGH TRANSITION and DIVINE SHIFT at an accelerated speed. We have really arrived at a unique juncture and crossroad of human history.

Jesus Christ is the only answer in the coming storm. Being rooted in a real, deep and authentic relationship with Him is the only way forward. This is a time to radically ALIGN with His heart, ways and will! It will not get better, but we can grow stronger, we can burn hotter, we can shine brighter!

In order to align, we must hear the voice of the Holy Spirit with distinct clarity and receive the very Word of Jesus consistently. There is a need to downsize and to dial down the “noise” in our lives that has clouded our hearing and crowded out the Word of Jesus. We need to fine-tune our spiritual signal-to-noise ratio in order to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and to receive the very Word of Jesus!

Often, we need to reboot our smartphones and computers to clear out unnecessary information and data from the memory in order for our device to start anew, run faster and operate more efficiently. A season of RESET is needed to lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and more importantly, to fix our eyes on Jesus so that we can run the race that is set before us in the coming season.

Truly one thing is needed! But it is especially needed in such a time as this!

Let us SHIFT! ALIGN! RESET!

The Word of the Lord for 2019: Shift! Align! Reset! | Dec 2018

December 9, 2018 by Admin Crea IHOP

Dear Beloved,

In September 2018, on our 15th Anniversary as a House of Prayer, the LORD spoke very clearly to us on the need for ALIGNMENT in 2019. As I reflect on this Word and what the LORD has been speaking to us over the past 10 years, it is obvious that He was preparing us for shifts in the House of Prayer movement and in the world.

The SHIFT is here!

There has been an obvious seismic shift for the worse in the world; yet it is a new era for the global House of Prayer movement! IHOP 2.0 is here!

In the light of this divine shift, it is crucial for us to ALIGN ourselves with the shift of God. It is not an option but an imperative for us to radically align ourselves with the heart, ways and will of God so as to position ourselves to move with Him!

For extreme times require extreme measures. Minor adjustments and incremental changes will not suffice anymore.

Radical ALIGNMENT is required!

The LORD also spoke very clearly to me about the need to downsize and dial down in order to hear Him clearly. Over the years, many may have allowed things in their lives to distract and crowd out the main thing – the One Thing that is needed.

This is a time to RESET!

A “reset” is not about finding something new to do, but about returning to the original call that the LORD has for us. This is really a season for us to return to the centrality of Jesus as our magnificent obsession!

The Word of the LORD for 2019 is – SHIFT :: ALIGN :: RESET.

This is the focus of our upcoming 15-Day fast (December 31, 2018 – January 14, 2019) – to understand the SHIFT with greater clarity; to ask God for grace and wisdom to ALIGN ourselves in accordance to the heart, will and ways of God; to RESET to the One Thing.

Let us set aside these 15 days for a season of sacred assemblies. We come with confidence, faith and expectation that the LORD who is zealous and relentless for our fullness will break into our midst when we seek Him seriously and sincerely.

With faith and great expectation,
Kay-Chong
